B by Maucaillou is a superior Bordeaux from the property of Pascal and Magali Dourthe in Baurech, and from the best terroirs of the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, in partnership with the technical team of Château Maucaillou, a renowned Dourthe property in Moulis-en-Médoc. Château Maucaillou is a flagship wine from Moulis, founded in 1875 in places called Caubet and Maucaillou – “bad stone”, a hillock of gravel unsuitable for cereal cultivation for medieval farmers, but suitable for vines. Stronghold of the Dourthe family since 1929, this estate has grown from 3.5 ha at that time to 90 ha today. Philippe Dourthe, the current owner, has entrusted its management to his three children.

Tasting

Ruby color of very good intensity with a slight mauve gradient. Nose with notes of fairly ripe black fruits and cherries, notes of pepper with a discreet woodiness. Supple and fleshy attack, a fruity substance coats peppery and liquorice notes. The tannins are soft and very silky. A great entry into the “Maucaillou” universe.
