Comment

Created in 1952 by Charles Brotte, the Pope's Vial gives rise to many legends. La Fiole actually comes from a competition of local ceramists whose very inspired theme was: "The wild movement of the vine in the Mistral". Charles Brotte took part in this competition and won first prize by imagining a bottle that imitated the Grenache vine which grows under the stress of the strong Provençal wind – The Mistral – which sweeps the region. Its anthracite golden powdering evokes the wines of yesteryear. He then decided not to stop at the appearance of the bottle and imagined a unique vintage that the whole world would remember.

Tasting

Deep and brilliant ruby color. Nose with fruity and spicy notes evolving towards aromas reminiscent of ripe fruits, cherries in brandy, spices, truffles. Elegant and well-balanced palate, fleshy, powerful, with persistent aromas offering great tasting pleasure: fruits (blackcurrant, strawberry jam), sweet spices (pepper, cloves)...
