Comment

Halfway between Bordeaux and Périgueux, about twenty kilometers from Saint Emilion and 8 kilometers from the Château de Montaigne, Château Mondésir was the property of the great-granddaughter of the author of the Essays. The manor was built in the 17th century on the site of a medieval fortified castle of which four towers remain and which constituted a lookout outpost for the "English" bastide of Villefranche-de-Lonchat, founded by Edward I of England, around 1285. Traditional winemaking, control of yield, polyphenol analysis, fermentation with temperature control, pneumatic pressing to obtain the best juice.

Tasting

Red color with ruby reflections. Nose with nuances of blackberry plum and raspberries. Velvety texture offering a balanced structure supported by a light spicy note, lingering finish. To be enjoyed between 15 and 16°C. Perfect to accompany dishes with character or sauce, such as beef bourguignon or Provençal stew.
