Comment

Château les Essarts takes its name from the ancient term "essarts," which designated newly cleared land, often at the cost of intense effort, to be transformed into agricultural plots rich in humus, very fertile and with high yield. It is this story of human effort and deep links with the soil that Château Les Essarts highlights in each of its bottles. Its vineyard occupies an area of fourteen hectares in the heart of the Lussac Saint-Émilion appellation. It extends over a large clay plateau with areas of siliceous gravel and iron dross, typical of this terroir and very favorable to Merlot. The average age of the vines is 25 years. Leaf removal and thinning are carried out according to needs. Winemaking is traditional in a modern cellar.

Tasting

Deep and intense vermilion color. On the nose, subtle aromas of red fruits mingle with a slight touch of mint offering a beautiful freshness. On the palate, the attack is supple, revealing flavors of cooked fruit, harmoniously balanced by an elegant and refined woodiness.
