Family owned for four generations, Château HautGravelier is located on magnificent hillsides on the edge of Entre-deux-Mers, in the commune of Saint-Martial, south of Gironde. The vineyard extends over approximately 32 hectares in one piece, planted on clay-limestone terroir, with an average age of the vines of around 20 years. The well-exposed hillsides ensure optimal sunshine, promoting uniform and complete ripening of the grapes. Yields are deliberately controlled, cultivation practices are part of a reasoned approach, and managing the vines with foliage kept high allows for better aromatic concentration. Vinification is carried out in accordance with Bordeaux tradition, while relying on modern equipment, notably thermoregulation, to guarantee perfect control of fermentations and precise extraction of aromas.

Tasting

To the eye, the color presents a beautiful deep color with ruby ​​reflections, testifying to a mature wine. The nose opens with generous aromas of ripe red fruits and blackcurrant, with a subtly spicy touch. On the palate, the attack is ample and round, revealing notes of blackberry which underline the gourmand character of the wine. The structure is balanced, the texture silky, and the whole continues with an elegant and harmonious finish.
