Comment

Château Grand Jour is located on the sunny slopes of the Dordogne Valley, and stands majestically to the east of Bourgeais in one of the most beautiful wine-growing sites in Bordeaux. Built in 1763 on the foundations of an old residence dating from the reign of Louis XIV, it attracted many artists at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to its majestic and unique architecture. Many famous films in French cinema have been filmed in this way, starting in 1981 with Jacques Doniol-Valcroze's TV film “Les fiancées de l'Empire” then “Les fille du Maître de Chai” in 1996 with Sophie De La Rochefoucauld. It was the filming location for the TV film “La bicyclette bleue” with Laetitia Casta in 2000 and then for the saga “La Maison des Rocheville” in 2010.

Tasting

Very deep ruby color. The nose develops scents of red and black fruits and fruit pulp, followed by fragrances of morello cherries and licorice then by scents that evoke coffee with milk but also a menthol character. The attack is round and fleshy, and restores these fruity aromas with a touch of liquorice. The finish is a little firmer but without excess. The whole is balanced and presents harmony with a finish in which we find these notes of coffee, roasting and cocoa.
