Comment

The Sautereau Vineyards brings together three properties: Château de Rol (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru), Château Vigneau (Lussac-Saint-Émilion) and Château La Petite Jolie (AOC Bordeaux). A family estate for several generations, the first written traces of which date back to the 19th century, it is today managed by Marie-Noëlle and Didier Sautereau. Located on the famous Côte de Rol, on the heights of Saint-Émilion, the Château de Rol extends over 7 hectares of mainly clay-limestone soils. The grape varieties are made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is managed using traditional methods, with grassy plots and a committed approach towards High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. The vinifications are carried out in concrete vats, with long vatting periods allowing all the richness and elegance of the terroir to be revealed.

Tasting

Purple color with purplish reflections. The nose reveals beautiful aromas of black cherry and stewed plum, characteristic of Merlot. On the palate, this wine seduces with its elegance, its silky tannins and its beautiful balance. Its long and generous finish makes it an ideal companion to red meats, a leg of lamb confit or a cheese platter.
