Comment

In 1962, around fifty winegrowers from the villages of Baroville, Fontaine and Arconville, in the Côte des Bar, decided to join forces and founded a wine cooperative to pool the pressing activity. The Barfontarc brand was born quickly, its name – a nod to its roots – is composed of the first syllables of the 3 original villages. Due to its cooperative status, the Maison de Barfontarc benefits from a rich and varied supply of grapes, offering numerous compositional possibilities during blending and guaranteeing vintages of consistent quality. Concerned about respecting and preserving the land, it has naturally adopted a sustainable viticulture method for many years.

Tasting

A frank and luscious champagne. Light yellow color. Expressive nose of citrus fruits, beautiful notes of grapefruit and lemon, as well as light notes of white-fleshed fruits. A fresh attack with a hint of minerality with notes of pear. A balanced champagne with remarkable length. An ideal vintage as an aperitif, and which will pair ideally with an oyster and trout tartare, white-fleshed fish or pan-fried scallops with coral butter.
